My counselling practice and clinical training is focused on working to support new mothers, mothers-to-be, and their partners. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
The perinatal period (the period immediately before & after birth) in particular can bring to the surface many unprocessed emotions. I understand the effect that stress, fear and sadness have on our minds, bodies, and relationships.
As a counsellor, my therapeutic approach is to carefully attune to each client and to support and empower her towards pursing her goals. I believe strongly in the power of support and the therapeutic relationship as tools with which to overcome and integrate emotional discomfort.
My graduate research focused on cross-cultural perspectives of Postpartum Depression and furthering the understanding of postpartum wellness.

Before pursuing a career in counselling, I worked for ten years as a contemporary dancer and theatre maker in Vancouver. I teach and practice yoga and meditation. I am also a mother. I draw on all of these experiences in my counselling practice.
