My practice of midwifery includes being an active member of my professional group and co-founder of Pomegranate Community Midwives. Pomegranate grew out of dreams that Kat and I shared during our midwifery education and I am proud to be a part of our community of health care providers, instructors, support staff and families.
As a mother of three, I appreciate the special relationship between midwife and patient, and how we can be empowered by our experience of pregnancy and birth. Birth and motherhood are life-altering experiences and as a midwife, I strive to preserve this while supporting outreach initiatives that promote birth as a normal, healthy event. With excellent resources and expert colleagues in our community, midwifery is part of delivering a high standard of maternity care here in BC.
I live with my family on a farm on the Sunshine Coast where I have opened a new practice, Suncoast Midwifery. I love the outdoors, sharing food with my family and friends and enjoying simple pleasures fully.
I would recommend Pomegranate Midwives to everyone! My partner and I were blown away by the support, knowledge, care, attention and expertise of our midwives. They were all wonderful people and helped us so much during the pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Yay midwives – I can’t imagine not going this route for childbirth care.
