Postpartum Drop In @ Pomegranate Community Midwives
Sep 7 @ 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm

Your last visit with your midwife is 6 weeks after your baby is born. Sometimes that just feels too soon! We started a weekly drop-in for our patients so that you can continue connecting with other mamas and families during your early days with your baby. This is our way to help you along your way to becoming a confident parent in a community where you feel that you have meaningful connections. It’s our part to keep supporting new mamas and babies.

Our Postpartum Drop-Ins are free for Pomegranate mamas and their babies up to 4 months old. Join us weekly for facilitated groups and connect with other friends in your community. We meet each Friday at 1pm at the clinic.

Every week we address a range of topics, including:

  • Breastfeeding
  • Sleep
  • Postpartum wellness
  • Baby wearing
  • Self care
  • Elimination communication
  • Community Resources
  • Postpartum Nutrition
  • Health and fitness
  • Relationships
  • Play

How are Birthing from Within Prenatal Classes Unique?

Are you looking for a prenatal class that goes beyond the ordinary? While we do cover all the same core information you would find in any prenatal class, our goal is to provide you with something more – offering a blend of information and practical tools together with a deeper sense of personal preparation for birth and new parenthood. This is childbirth preparation for your heart and mind.

We have an agenda of topics (below) we are always sure to cover, but we also strive to tailor the class to your unique needs and interests. The result? You enjoy a childbirth class that prepares you for the full spectrum of what birth can bring – so that you can enter the unknown of your unique birth with a sense of confidence, connection and creativity.

Birthing Again
Sep 15 all-day

Saturday, 7-9:15pm; Sunday, 1-5pm

Created especially for parents who are having another baby, this workshop offers a unique chance to connect with this pregnancy and birth and prepare for a new baby in your family. Whether you are planning a VBAC, needing support with your first birth story, or simply needing a prenatal refresher of pain coping approaches, Birthing Again offers the tools you need.

Concerned about sibling rivalry and how to best prepare your first child for the changes to come? Exchange ideas with other families expecting their second child, and learn innovative ways to help your first child feel cared for and included through birth and postpartum

Starting this November, we are inviting moms to a special Saturday evening just with other women, where we will gently release the previous birth in order to meet your new child in his or her own way. On Sunday, refreshed and ready, we will connect with partners to talk about pain coping in labour, sibling preparation, and other questions you might have about your growing family.

Preparing you for baby #2:

Sibling Rivalry

  • Refresh pain-coping practices
  • Explore sibling preparation for birth & the new baby
  • Enjoy time to connect with this pregnancy
  • Approach this birth as a new experience
  • Special PDF Resource Guide
  • NEW! Exclusive videos & podcasts for home practice of pain-coping approaches.

Pom Picnic!
Sep 15 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

We’d love to see you all at our annual Pomegranate Potluck Picnic on September 15th at Trout Lake! This is a wonderful time to see all the growing families, reconnect and share a picnic meal together. As usual, bring a picnic blanket, a dish to share (with your own dishes/cutlery), sun-gear, and water. We will be set up between the park and the baseball field – you can’t miss us! Stay tuned to FB if the weather isn’t cooperating – we will cancel if it is pouring rain!
