We’ve all heard that “it takes a village to raise a child,” but how many of us know what our village really has to offer? Vancouver’s families are invited to discover their village with the birth professionals of Birth Lounge.

Birth Lounge was born out of the collective desire of a local network of birth professionals to offer childbearing women and their families in BC's Lower Mainland a chance to discover all their community has to offer. We started out hosting free monthly information sessions in the spring of 2006. 

At these gatherings, it became increasingly clear that expectant and new families hungered for information about what was available to them. Out of the idea of hosting a community-wide event sprang BirthFest in the spring of 2007 at Britannia Community Centre. It was such a success we decided to make it an annual event.
